Most people who ask for gutter cleaning mean clearing the inside of the gutter of moss, leaves and dirt so the water runs away properly. We call that gutter clearance, and it is the job that actually matters.
Washing the outside of the gutters, the fascias and the soffits is a different job. It makes a considerable difference to how the house looks, but it is cosmetic. If you only do one, do the clearance. We would rather tell you that plainly than sell you the wrong thing.
How we clear your gutters
Wherever we safely can, we work from the ground. A gutter vacuum on a telescopic pole draws the moss and debris straight out, with a camera mounted at the top so we can see precisely what we are doing rather than guessing at it from below.
Some properties will not allow it. Where access is restricted or the building calls for it, we will use ladders, a scaffold tower or our own mobile access platform instead. Having all four options means we can take on properties that a single method firm has to turn down.
You see exactly what we did
Gutters are the one job on a house you cannot check for yourself. You are standing on the ground taking somebody’s word for it. We do not think that is good enough, so after every clearance we send you a PDF report with photographs of your gutters before and after.
If we spot something while we are up there, a cracked joint, a sagging bracket or a downpipe that is not running away as it should, that goes in the report too.
What happens when gutters are left
A blocked gutter is a small problem that turns into an expensive one. Water that cannot run away goes somewhere else, and usually that is into your walls.

Do you repair gutters as well?
A clearance covers removing debris from inside the gutter. It does not include removing, repairing or replacing any part of the gutter or downpipes. If we notice a problem we will photograph it and tell you, so you can get it seen to before it becomes serious.
